My whole first week here Blanche Dubois kept repeating her sentence inside my head. Due to natural confusion, issues with blue dot on Google Maps, poor 3G on my mobile and what not, I depended on the kindness of strangers to get to the workplace on my first day, to find the food store, figure out where to wait for my tram. Kids are always helpful. They speak English better than many adults and if they don't know the answer they will call 10 of their schoolmates, also waiting for the train, and in the end their teacher who does know that foreign office is called "Einwohnermeldeamt".
Strolling in my new pinkish dress and crazy blue nails at 35 degrees outside, catching a look and a smile from a cute guy in the tram while waiting for mine, watching Godfather III in an apartment with film-loving people I met through someone I got to know while searching for a WG (only later to find out I cannot really end my current contract), spending a day in Frankfurt in a fountain (it's good to be a tourist), wet girls photo-bombing other tourists trying to get nice pictures in front of Opernplatz, dancing and singing in empty streets in the night, digging up an Asimov book in Spanish from an antique shop, unsent postcard staring at me from the table, welcoming short splashes of rain on a hot afternoon, a huge rainbow seen from the bathroom window, coming home earlier to realize that the 58 year old landlady has someone in her room, her leaving the room and locking it, and him sneaking out through the balcony (!), finally unpacking the whole suitcase after one month and booking a ticket to Barcelona. Reasons to start blogging again and not letting go of moments. :)
